Like all good theories, the Orangetheory workout is based in science. The specific physiological theory behind Orangetheory is known as “Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption,” or EPOC. As part of your high intensity workout, you will be fitted with a heart rate monitor and be able to track your progress on any of the screens around the workout areas. These monitors allow your workout coach to push you safely and effectively through the 5 zone Orange 60 workout to reach maximum burn in zone’s 4 and 5. By challenging your body to reach 84% or better of your maximum heart rate for 12 to 20 minutes of your HIT workout, EPOC keeps your body burning calories for up to 36 hours after your workout has completed. An average client will burn an estimated 500 to 1000 calories during their workout, making this one of the best work out plans for weight loss.
