Manage Symptoms of COVID-19 with Homeopathy

I know you are tired of hearing about COVID-19 and the novel coronavirus. However, I am going to offer you something different today. A plan

of action to take if you or a loved one becomes ill with the virus and cannot get into a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the United States is extremely underprepared to deal with this pandemic. By all estimations, we will very quickly run out of hospital beds and ventilators. The hospitals in Italy are almost collapsing because they cannot keep up with demand. So what can we do? Is there an alternative?

Today, we are here to talk about keeping you and your family safe from this rapidly spreading novel coronavirus, aka COVID-19. Our current medical system does not have a vaccine or approved drug to treat this virus and it will be a while before they do. Meanwhile, the novel coronavirus is spreading throughout the world at a tremendous rate. Not waiting for us to be ready. This means, we are on our own and we need to get prepared now. Our medical community does not currently have a treatment for this virus. Practical homeopathy, however, does.

I am Toni Eatros, Acupuncture Physician and Functional Medicine Specialist. Throughout my years of continuous study, I have acquired a large variety of knowledge and tools to treat all types of illnesses, acute, chronic and yes, even pandemic viruses. Homeopathy’s curative ability is not restricted to headaches, runny noses and fevers. It has the ability to combat the most deadly illnesses and has made such striking impacts as to warrant historical significance. This is why we are talking about this medicine today.

Historical Uses of Homeopathy:
• Typhus outbreak in Germany, during the year 1813:
– 70%-80% of patients treated with the medical techniques of the time died.
– 2% of patients treated with homeopathy died
– The 1918/19 Spanish Flu pandemic:
• About 500 million people or ⅓ of the world’s population became infected with this virus.
– Deaths were estimated to be at least 50 million worldwide with about 675,000 deaths occurring in the United States.
– There were no flu vaccines, antiviral drugs, antibiotics or mechanical ventilators.
– Treatment tools were basic and limited to supportive care and unproven remedies.
– Control efforts worldwide were limited to non-pharmaceutical interventions such as isolation,  quarantine, good personal hygiene, use of disinfectants, and limitations of public gatherings, which were applied differently in the different  countries. (Does any of that sound familiar right now?)
– The medical treatment had a mortality rate of 30%.
– The mortality rate for those treated with homeopathy was only 1.05%.

Homeopathy came to the rescue, quite literally, when it was administered to people that had contracted the virus.

I apologize for the bummer subject matter today. It is not my intention to cause fear in your heart. It is, however, my intention to empower you to prepare and protect yourself and your family during this time of limited options.

In my Season 1, Episode 11 podcast I discuss classical homeopathy versus practical homeopathy. In a nut shell, in classical homeopathy, the practitioner scours over more than 6000 homeopathic medicine to find the exact one medicine to treat all of the ailments of the person sitting in front of them. They usually give only one highly potentized dose of the medicine and then they wait and see, sometimes over the course of months, if the medicine was chosen correctly. When it is chosen correctly, the results can be miraculous. However, there is a lot of user error in this method and frankly, sometimes we don’t have months to wait to see if it worked.

If you contract the novel coronavirus, you need results immediately. This is where practical homeopathy comes in. In practical homeopathy, we treat much like our current medical system does. We ask, what are the symptoms? What homeopathic medicine treats those symptoms? Unlike classical homeopathy, practical homeopathy uses multiple remedies simultaneously, and at varying intervals and potencies.

I do not feel like it is an accident that I have recently been submerged into this medical system, just as the novel coronavirus is sweeping through the lands. I have been learning from a variety of mentors and homeopaths, however, the information we are talking about today comes from the Dr Prasanta Banerji Homoeopathic Research Foundation – Home of the Banerji Protocols. This is the busiest medical clinic in the world and they have remarkable results in the treatment of all kinds of illness, especially cancer. They are experts in homeopathy.

This homeopathic center in Kalcutta India has been run by 4 generations of drs for the past 130 years. Dr’s there see 1000 patients every day, 7000 people per week. The foundation has calculated all of the prescriptions and outcomes over the years to arrive at the famous Banerji Protocols. Depending on the ailment, there are one to three lines of treatment.

The first line of treatment is always used first and is expected to cure or offer relief in 80% of cases. In the remaining 20% of cases, where the first line was not effective, the 2nd line of medicines are administered. In some illnesses, there is a 3rd line of medicines that are used if the 1st and 2nd lines do not give proper response in a reasonable time frame. The percentage of people needing the 3rd line protocol is very small.

The Banerji’s have extensive experience effectively treating SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome). The SARS virus is also a coronavirus. Although it had a higher mortality rate than the novel coronavirus, the rate of transmission was not nearly as fast.

What is important is the symptoms of SARS are similar to the symptoms of COVID-19, so it makes sense that the homeopathic medicines that effectively treated symptoms of SARS could effectively treat the same symptoms from the novel coronavirus.

In practical homeopathy, we do not target a particular virulent organism, we choose medicines based on symptoms. These viruses result in an acute respiratory tract infection known as the common cold, with the sudden onset of symptoms like headache, difficult or labored breathing, malaise, fever, sore throat and cough. The illness can progress rapidly into complications from pneumonia and severe breathing issues. Many people require emergency care and the use of ventilators in order to recover. Once the illness has resolved, many people have permanent fibrosis and damage to their lungs.

The Banerji’s have given us two lines of medicines to treat these viral symptoms. Although, we don’t have treatment results for this particular coronavirus, yet, these two protocols were effectively used to treat SARS, also a coronavirus with a similar symptom presentation.

I heard that the Government of India has suggested the residents of India to use homeopathy prophylactically. They are recommending that everyone take one dose of Arsenicum album 30C, every 24 hours for a total of three doses. This is to be repeated at the same time every month. The hope is that the Arsenicum will reduce the number of people that become infected by the virus, thereby slowing transmission.

It is very important that when googling these medicines, be sure you are looking at the homeopathic indications and NOT the herbal indications. These are not the same medicines. This confusion is why it is wise to seek out the expertise of an experienced practitioner when you are not sure about using a medicine.
