Effective Habits of Health Finally Lose Weight & Keep it Off

By Jill Greber –

Effective Habits of Health Finally Lose Weight & Keep it OffWhile attending a nutrition seminar, Terry Cale met two health coaches, who did a presentation for an optimal health program and its meal replacements. After attending a tasting and information session, he decided that the food was good, very convenient and that he could commit do following the program with his busy traveling schedule. Driving in excess of 100 miles while working more than twelve hours per day, like many other, losing weight and eating proper nutritious meals was very nearly impossible.

After learning more about the comprehensive approach to weight loss, weight management, and long-term optimal health benefits of the program, Terry was intrigued. His interest peaked after tasting the meals and realizing that this unique program has helped hundreds of thousands of people lose weight and keep it off.

3-Prong Comprehensive Approach
The program takes a fully comprehensive approach to helping individuals achieve optimal health: (1) Medifast meal replacements, (2) Dr. Andersen’s Habits of Health System, and (3) a FREE Certified Health Coach. While following the program, people lose weight rapidly (up to 2 to 5 pounds the first 2 weeks and 1to 2 pounds thereafter) and learn the skills necessary to keep it off and move toward optimal health and longevity.

The program is more than “just another diet” plan. Diets by themselves are rarely effective. In fact, 85% of people who lose weight on diets will regain their weight in two years, plus about ten more pounds. Unless someone adopts new skills and lifestyle changes (Habits of Health) they are destined to fail.

Weighing just shy of 290 pounds when he started the program on November 18, 2009, Terry’s goal was to lose 90 pounds. “I reached my goal a lot faster than I thought, one day less than four months, on March 17, 2010. Imagine the pleasant surprise when I lost an additional 30 pounds as I was transitioning from the weight loss phase to the maintenance phase of the program.”

How Does the Program Work?
The program is easy to follow. It is a structured eating plan where you’ll eat about every 2 1/2 to 3 hours or six times a day – 5 nutritionally balanced meal replacements and one “lean and green” regular meal. Eating every three hours maintains blood sugar levels and curbs hunger. Using the meal replacement options ensures that you receive 100% of your nutritional needs every day.

The program is perfect for busy people who, like Terry, travel frequently. The meal replacements are easy to transport and the program is structured. The program is “goof-proof” in that all you need to do is to remember to eat one of the meal replacements every three hours and to drink plenty of water.

After losing 120 pounds, Terry was concerned if he was going to be able to keep the weight off. “I had lost weight in the past but always gained it back, plus extra. All diets work while you’re on them! I was told this was not a diet but an optimal health program, as long as I followed my coach’s advice and read The Habits of Health book I will keep the weight off. Here it is, June 2013 (39 months after hitting my goal) and because of the program, I feel great, have more energy and look better than I have in years.”

Terry recalled that he went in for a complete physical in October 2010; it had been two years since his last physical. The doctor wanted him to have some routine tests done. After the tests results came in, a heart catheterization was scheduled for December 9th. That is when doctors discovered that the left side of his heart had major blockage. “I had a quadruple bypass the next day. The doctor said that if I had not lost the weight my heart would have given out on me six to eight months prior. I had no signs of any health problems; I was just carrying around a lot of excess deadly weight.”

“Fast forward, six weeks to heal. Then I had an upper stomach aneurysm surgery, six weeks later, hernia surgery and May 16th, 2011 had total hip replacement. The doctors have told me that I healed much quicker than they ever expected and I credit the quick healing to losing the weight and being able to keep it off.

“I feel like a new man. Losing 120 pounds and 13 inches off my waist, I am now full of energy. Having kept the weight of for more than three years now, I am a proof that the program works and I have become a health coach because I want to help as many people as possible who find themselves in the condition I was in in 2009.”
