A few of the most popular cosmetic services available at Riverchase Dermatology are discussed below.

Botox®
Botox® was first approved by the FDA in 1989 as a medical treatment for eye disorders. In April 2002, Botox® was approved by the FDA as a cosmetic treatment. The injections are safe and effective, and they have been used to treat various conditions for more than a decade. No anesthesia is required for Botox® treatments, although some patients choose to have the desired area numbed with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes, with the number of units depending on the amount and severity of the wrinkles or frown lines. Patients can resume normal activities afterwards, since there is no recovery time needed. An improvement in the frown lines and wrinkles is noted within days and can last up to four months. In clinical trials, nearly 90% of men and women surveyed rated the improvement in the appearance of frown lines between their brows as moderate to better one month after treatment.

New and existing Botox® users are often unaware of all the benefits the treatment has to offer:

Line and Wrinkle Relaxing: crows feet, forehead, frown lines, dimples

Skin Lifting: eye brow lifting

Juvéderm®
As we age, our face loses volume and we begin to see facial folds and wrinkles, better known as your smile lines that run from the bottom of your nose to the corner of your mouth. Juvéderm® is an injectable filler used to restore volume lost in your face from the natural aging process. Juvéderm® restores the volume creating a smooth, natural, youthful look you once had.

Juvéderm® is injected directly into the skin using a fine needle to reduce injection discomfort. The injection process takes only about 15 minutes and results are often immediate. Optimal results from Juvéderm® injections can last up to one year from your first treatment!

Latisse®
The first and only FDA approved prescription treatment for inadequate and insufficient eyelashes. Latisse® is used to promote eyelash growth, growing them longer, fuller and darker. Affecting the growth (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways: first, it increases the length of this phase; and second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase. You apply the Latisse® solution once-a-day to the base of the upper eyelashes just as you would apply liquid eyeliner. Lashes may begin to appear longer and fuller after four weeks, full results are generally seen at 12 to 16 weeks.

South Beach PeelTM
The South Beach Peel combines BroadBand Light (BBL) treatment first, followed by a Micro Laser Peel. Following a South Beach Peel, patients see a major improvement in sun damage spots and collagen tightening for fine lines and wrinkles.

BBL is an innovative light-based technology that sets new standards for treating skin conditions associated with aging, active life-styles and sun damage. The BBL 560 filter deposits pulses of light energy which gently heat the upper layers of skin. Within the skin, the light energy is absorbed by the targets for treatment, such as fine, broken vessels that cause redness and rosacea. This scientific and biological process destroys the target, eliminating it from the skin and restoring skin to its naturally beautiful state, blending natural tones and making it more vibrant and youthful in appearance and touch. The BBL 560 is used to treat vascular lesions (e.g., small blood vessels, rosacea and other micro-capillary flushing conditions), skin laxity, and uneven skin texture.

The Micro Laser Peel is an intra-epidermal laser peel that precisely ablates the outermost layers of the skin. The procedure is individually tailored to the nature of the conditions to be corrected.

Skin conditions such as: wrinkles, scars, acne scars, or pigmentary problems have been very successfully treated with Micro Laser Peel. If you are looking for more than microdermabrasion or light chemical peels, and have little time for a prolonged healing process, then the Micro Laser Peel was designed for you.

CoolSculpting®
A patented, non-invasive, clinically proven procedure to selectively reduce fat layers in problem areas using a patented cooling technology. CoolSculpting® is a safe procedure cleared by the FDA that gently cools unwanted fat cells in the body to induce a natural, controlled elimination

of fat cells. This reduces bulges in treated areas of the body without harming surrounding tissue. Procedures last about one to two hours, so treatment can easily be performed during a lunch hour or without major disruption to the day. Patients can expect an undeniable reduction of fat in the treated areas in as soon as three weeks following treatment.
